Mac Deaver has a tremendous article, “A difference of perspective,” in the newly ramped-up online magazine, Biblical Notes, begun in 1965 by Roy Deaver. Mac’s son Weylan carries it forward.

The article, published today, provides a bit of fiction, in service of truth, to change our notion of death. The last paragraph of the article packs a powerful punch.

Hoover AL minister Chuck Webster writes, “Heaven on earth? I wonder if it’s possible during those moments that we really worship, those rare times when the world is completely gone from our minds, when no distractions bother us, when we have no nagging emotional or physical pain . . . I wonder if that’s a little taste of what heaven will be like?”

Not just for teens: In the shifting ‘Daily Do’ some priorities stay on top

Carl Hanson’s TeenMail reminds all of us today that our “Daily Do!” may get shifted around, but some things ought to remain at the top of the list.

Priorities! Do you find them shifting in your life? Do you find yourself frequently re-ordering things? With busy lives, many worthwhile things to accomplish, full calendars, and the reality of only so many hours in a day do, you find yourself having to choose even between the good and the better or the urgent and the truly important? Still, even in the midst of that are there still some consistencies? Are there priorities that ALWAYS REMAIN AT THE TOP of the list?

Carl doesn’t talk down to anybody. He talks up the Lord Jesus Christ.

The world tries to make us follow the wrong paths

On the Mt. Juliet, Tenn., congregational website, Jose Elias Roque says that “the world is trying to guide our lives and make us follow the wrong paths. Don’t listen to worldly advice, don’t follow its customs, and don’t allow it to influence our young children.” Read his simple yet powerful words.

HCU added to Friends segment

New segment, new site

We’ve added a segment for forums, email groups, and discussion groups in the lower right column. For now, we have only two in the segment, and we’re looking for others to add. They must be groups or forums with open archives, that provide an RSS feed. Know of one?

Also, we’ve added the Heritage Christian University blog in the Friends segment. One feature is questions answered by HCU faculty. Now that’s cool!
