Firefox has made it easy.

In Safari, choose Safari > Preferences and click General. Do one of the following:

1. To use the page in the current Safari window or tab, click “Set to Current Page.”
2. To use another page, type its address in the “Home page” field.
3. To use a blank page, delete the contents of the “Home page” field so that the field is blank.
4. If you also want the home page to appear whenever you open a new Safari window, choose Home Page from the “New windows open with” pop-up menu.

To enlarge the font, most browsers use a combination of CTRL or CMD with the “+” and “-” signs.
